Hospital & Clinical Waste

Systems for treatment of hospital and clinical waste include:
  • high-temperature controlled combustion;
  • gasification and pyrolysis;
  • steam sterilisation (generally under pressure in an autoclave); and
  • microwaving.

  • High-temperature combustion is the most common treatment. This can be carried out using:
  • a rotary kiln;
  • a stepped hearth;
  • a pulsating grate; or
  • a fluidised bed.

    Darley & Associates have considerable experience with all forms of treatment for clinical waste, yet they remain independent from any supplier so are able to give a fully objective assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of each option, including cost comparisons.
